Lucas Estrada interview

We recently caught up with talent Lucas Estrada to chat all about his latest releases and more. Welcome Lucas Estrada to Melodic Nation.

1.How long have you been producing music?

I have been producing music since I was 13 years old! So overall for 20 years now. I started producing hip hop beats back then and as I got older I started liking electronic music more and more.

2.How long was it before you were satisfied to release this music publicly?

I started releasing music officially when I was 25 years old!  I was not really satisfied and I still am not. I feel I still have a lot to learn and always feel I can improve!

3.As a blog, we have been following you for several years now. Most of your music is vocal-driven dance-pop. What made you decide to release tracks in this style? Is it essential for upcoming artists to stick to one main sound in their music?

I feel my strong side has always been coming up with hooky melodies and vocals so I have been sticking to vocal driven pop songs for a long time.

4.Recently you released a more Latin-based dance-pop track, ‘Candela’ with Raffa Fl & TECHOLOGY. A slightly different sound from what we are used to hearing, what made you decide to produce a track in this style? Will we hear more from you in this style in the future?

I decided to test my wings with Spanish music because I grew up in Mexico and I take a lot of inspiration from Spanish music. After this song went down well right away, I’m definitely going to do more in this style.

5.You have had a lot of releases this year, 19 in total, including remixes. Is it essential to release music consistently with the advent of streaming and social media?

Everyday I wake up I basically have new ideas for songs. It’s something I can’t stop and together with my team we have built really good processes to go from an initial idea to a finished song!  Without them I would not have been where I am.

6.Your most recent release was a remix by ‘Rammor’ of your track ‘Chemical’ which we have had on repeat since it came out. What made you choose Rammor to remix the track?

I really admire Rammor’s way of working. He has supported my music for years now and I think he is really talented. Thus we spoke about the possibility that he remixes a song of mine. I am really happy how the results sounds now!

7. One thing we have genuinely admired is your ability to make connections & congrats on reaching 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Do you think building connections is super important in the success of an artist?

Yes, I think so. Music business is like almost all businesses. It’s about hard work and taking care of all the people around you and delivering good quality products – for your listeners and for your partners who work with you.

8.This summer, we saw that you performed at Tinderbox festival. We have known you mainly as a producer & label owner, but do you have plans to play more live dates in the future?

In the past years I have only played very selected live shows. I’m a father, so I’ve taken care of my son a lot and continued to build LoudKult and my artist brand.

But things are different now and the LoudKult team has grown to a full record label and I got a great team behind my artist project. So I will definitely do more shows from now on!

9.What can we expect for the rest of 2023?

As a matter of course I will release a lot of new music!

I got my biggest collaborations confirmed which are coming soon! I am super excited for the future.
